Hunter Biden Pleads Guilty To Tax Fraud

Hunter Biden pleads guilty to tax fraud

President Biden's son accused of failing to file tax returns

Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has pleaded guilty to a tax fraud charge.

Biden, 52, entered the plea in federal court in Wilmington, Delaware, on Wednesday. He was charged with failing to file tax returns for the years 2014, 2015, and 2016.

The plea agreement calls for Biden to serve eight months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. He must also pay $30,000 in restitution to the IRS.

As part of the plea deal, prosecutors agreed to drop a second tax fraud charge against Biden. They also agreed to recommend a sentence below the federal guidelines.

Biden's attorney, Patrick Moore, said his client is "deeply sorry" for his actions. He said Biden has been struggling with addiction and mental health issues.

"Hunter takes responsibility for his actions and takes seriously his obligation to pay his taxes," Moore said. "He is committed to making amends."

The charges against Biden stem from an investigation into his finances by the US Attorney's Office in Delaware. Prosecutors alleged that Biden failed to report millions of dollars in income from his business dealings.

Biden's plea deal is a significant victory for prosecutors. It is the first time that a member of the Biden family has been convicted of a crime.

The plea deal also comes at a time when President Biden is facing criticism over his son's business dealings. Republicans have accused Biden of using his position to benefit his son.

The White House has denied any wrongdoing by President Biden. The White House has also said that the President is not involved in the prosecution of his son.
