Los Angeles Hit by 4.4 Magnitude Earthquake
Residents Feel Strong Shaking, No Major Damage Reported

A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck the El Sereno area of Los Angeles on Monday afternoon, causing strong shaking across the city and as far south as San Diego. There were no immediate reports of major damage or injuries.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located near the intersection of Slauson Avenue and Eastern Avenue, about three miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The quake struck at 12:50 PM PT, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The shaking was felt throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan area, including downtown, West Hollywood, and Pasadena. Buildings swayed and power lines were temporarily knocked down in some areas.
