William Kyle Carpenter, born on October 17, 1989, is a medically retired United States Marine who has become a symbol of courage and resilience against adversity. On June 19, 2014, he received the Medal of Honor, the United States' highest military honor, for his extraordinary bravery in Afghanistan.

A Defining Moment

On November 21, 2010, Carpenter and his squad were ambushed by Taliban insurgents. As bullets flew, a hand grenade landed near his fellow Marine, Nick Eufrasio. Without hesitation, Carpenter threw himself on the grenade, absorbing the blast with his own body and saving Eufrasio's life.

Carpenter's young age and unwavering determination have made him a role model for countless others. He has shared his story of survival and sacrifice with audiences around the world, inspiring them to overcome their own challenges and make a difference.
