British Grand Prix: Verstappen Wins Sixth Consecutive Race

Race Recap

Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing has extended his winning streak to six races with a dominant victory at the British Grand Prix, the 12th race of the 2024 Formula 1 season. The Dutch driver led from start to finish, securing his first win at Silverstone and a record-breaking sixth consecutive victory.

Race Highlights

Verstappen started on pole position and maintained his lead throughout the 52-lap race. He faced little challenge from his rivals, with Sergio Perez of Red Bull finishing second and Charles Leclerc of Ferrari completing the podium.

The race was marked by a safety car period midway through, but Verstappen was able to maintain his lead after the restart. He extended his gap over the field and crossed the finish line with a comfortable margin of victory.

Verstappen's Record-Breaking Performance

Verstappen's victory at Silverstone marks the first time a driver has won six consecutive races in the modern era of Formula 1. He has now extended his championship lead to 49 points over Leclerc, with Perez and George Russell of Mercedes completing the top four.

The British Grand Prix was the final race of the European triple-header, following the Austrian and French Grands Prix. The Formula 1 season will now take a short break before resuming with the Hungarian Grand Prix on July 23.
